General Questions
Yes. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, Google Pay and Apple Pay. All credit card terminals have touchless capabilities.
There is no charge for parking.
No alcohol is served or allowed at the Dark Woods.
Lost Treasure Mining Company is a seasonal, outdoor attraction open select days and times March through December, weather permitting.

Of course! Our Trading Post is open for souvenirs and gifts on most operating days.
Entering the Dark Woods Adventure Park property indicates your acceptance of all Dark Woods conditions, which include, but are not limited to:
- WEATHER – In the unlikely event that the weather forces Dark Woods to close after you have entered and paid to mine and are unable to continue, you may return at a later time to continue. All purchased mining rough is yours to keep. All patrons acknowledge and accept that there are NO REFUNDS!
- Your picture or video may be taken. By entering Dark Woods Adventure Park, attractions or other areas you agree to our use of your image. If you are a celebrity, in the witness protection program, or are hiding from the law, we apologize in advance.
- All patrons acknowledge that they have read, understood and accepted our terms, policies, and disclaimers. We reserve the right to amend such as the need arises, and without prior notice.
- You will not be admitted or may be asked to leave the property without refund if rules are not followed.
Yes! Dark Woods’ Molly Moo’s Soft Serve & Sweets is open adjacent to the mining area during operating hours.
Chaperone Policy FAQs
Yes, organized groups should contact our Group Sales office at (318) 228-1725 for specific requirements and arrangements.
Yes, chaperones can switch during a visit as long as:
- The new chaperone meets age requirements (21+)
- They present valid ID
- They accept responsibility for the group
- The switch occurs at the main entrance
- Staff is notified of the change
No, we cannot make exceptions to the chaperone policy, even with parental permission. The policy helps ensure all our guests have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Yes, the chaperone policy applies to all guests regardless of ticket type or pass status.
Chaperones must present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as:
- Driver’s License
- State ID Card
- Military ID
- Passport
Digital copies or photos of IDs are not accepted.

We’re happy to help ensure your visit to Dark Woods Adventure Park is memorable and fun!
For safety reasons, chaperones must remain within park boundaries during the entire visit. If a chaperone needs to leave, their supervised group must exit the park as well.
Groups with more than 4 youth guests will need additional chaperones. For example, a group of 7 youth guests would need 2 chaperones (21+).
Guests 17 and under without a chaperone will not be admitted to the park. We cannot make exceptions to this policy, so please plan accordingly.
Our established policy requires all guests ages 17 and under to be accompanied by an adult chaperone age 21 or older. Each chaperone may accompany up to four youth guests, and must remain in the park during the entire visit.
The chaperone policy is in effect during all operating hours, including special events like Halloween Haunt. There are no time restrictions – the policy applies whenever the park is open.
The policy applies to all attractions and events at Dark Woods Adventure Park, including:
- Buccaneer Bayou Adventure Mini Golf
- Lost Treasure Mining Company
- Dark Woods Haunted Attraction
- Dark Woods’ Christmas
- All seasonal events and special activities
Birthday Party FAQs
Yes, we are a fully outdoor activity, and our picnic tables are outdoors as well.
You are more than welcome to decorate your table for your birthday celebration. Make your celebration festive for the guest of honor & your guests. For the well-being of our wildlife and the cleanliness of the Park, confetti of any kind is not permitted.
There is no charge for non-mining participants. Spectators are welcome to come and join the celebration at no additional cost.
Yes! We can provide these items. We offer several party themed options including paper products, tablecloths, balloons, hats and favors for an additional charge.
Your party will be assigned one or more guides to ensure that each party guest has an enjoyable experience at Lost Treasure Mining Co. Trained staff guides will be available to assist with any questions or concerns while your party is mining.
You may arrive up to 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time to set up your party area and check in your participants. After check in, you will be escorted to your reserved picnic tables.
Please allow for a total of 60 minutes for our mining experience. You will also have an additional 30 minutes at your reserved picnic table, for a total of 1.5 hours at the Park.
Yes, the birthday package includes 10 total guests, 1 for the guest of honor plus 9 guests. Additional guest packages are available for purchase.
Dark Woods Adventure Park can still be fun while it is raining. However, the Park will close for severe weather such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, and high winds. If small storm systems are moving through the area, we try to stay open and ask our guests to take a break while they pass. Call before you travel to confirm the operating schedule.
